In my last Wandering in Kenting Part 3 post, we visited the CiKong Waterfalls and the fires of Chu Huo. Today, we are going back to nature, exploring a bit of the Kenting National Park!
Kenting National Park 墾丁國家公園
Kenting National Park is a beautiful place to visit for nature lovers; head up to the watchtower which makes for some incredible view too!
If you are looking for an adventure, there are also caves for the brave to explore; one aptly named ‘Fairy Cave.’
Unfortunately, I did not find any form of faeries, rather, a different kind of winged creature…
With gorgeous walking trails to explore, a solid pair of shoes will do you good in this National Park!
My favourite way to view the park would be on the scooter; however certain parts of the roads are rather steep, and in the month of December, the winds are pretty aggressive so ride carefully!
Note: This video was not sped up…
The locals call it the ‘Crazy Mountain Wind.’ It’s a great name and you really have to experience it in order to understand why. If you pay attention, you would even notice the trees growing at a really odd or bent angle as the winds are that strong during that period of the year.
Take in the sights as you ride but hold on to your hats, or don’t wear a hat because it won’t be on you for long.
Till the next post!
